The purpose of the Wenzhi Zhang Art Foundation NY is to:

(a) Preserve the ceramic and bronze sculptures of the Wenzhi Zhang Sculpture Garden located at the Queensborough Community College Art Gallery in New York City: maintaining the integrity of the sculpture works, restoring damaged pieces, and expanding the collection. By using ceramic language to strengthen cultural identity among Asians, we aim to gradually bridge cultural differences within the Asian and Asian American community, creating opportunities for a harmonious society.

(b) Organize cross-cultural art exchange activities: curate exhibitions, host seminars at least once a year. By experiencing cultural belonging across cultural boundaries, we aim to enhance interactions between people of different ethnicities.

(c) Promote ceramic culture, foster ceramic art creation, research, and education: plan exhibitions, host seminars, and conduct creative educational training at least once a year. Our goal is to popularize ceramic art education, facilitate community interactions, share the treasures of Chinese ceramic culture with the world, and promote the heritage of Eastern ceramic culture.

(d) Promote the creation, research, and education of contemporary lacquer art and contemporary painting: curate exhibitions, host seminars at least once a year. Lacquer art is one of China's important intangible cultural heritages, possessing a unique charm that combines practicality and artistry. Lacquer, like silk and porcelain, is a rich part of Chinese culture, alongside ceramics and ink painting as three major traditional art media.

(e) Apply urban public art aesthetic design principles to revitalize and transform the public environment of New York City to better suit the needs of modern individuals: considering the regeneration function of urban public spaces, promoting the optimization of the public environment, fostering the healthy development of New York City, focusing on and engaging in ecological development, revitalizing abandoned spaces, and injecting new vitality through the construction of ecological and humanistic environments, thus infusing new life into the city.
